Kenneth E. Aboussie
Mr. Aboussie also serves as a Member of the Stonelake Investment Committee. Prior to his founding of Stonelake, Mr. Aboussie was a Partner with Cypress Real Estate Advisors, a private equity firm in Austin, Texas, where he was involved in investment acquisition, investment disposition and capital markets activities. During his tenure at Cypress, Mr. Aboussie headed the firms’ capital markets group and directed transactions of acquisitions or dispositions of investments with a total capitalization over $700 million. In addition, Mr. Aboussie was responsible for raising over $800 million of equity capital for two separate private investment funds. Mr. Aboussie also served as a Member of the four person Cypress Investment Committee and is the Partner credited for opening the firm’s office outside of Mexico City, in addition to closing the firm’s first international real estate investments. Prior to joining Cypress, Mr. Aboussie was a Summer Associate in New York with JP Morgan Chase & Co. in their real estate group. Prior to that, Mr. Aboussie was a Legislative Aide in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, handling banking and finance issues. Mr. Aboussie received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University and a Masters in Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. Mr. Aboussie is a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, a past member of the Urban Land Institute Austin Executive Committee and former Chairman and current member of the Associate Council for the University of Texas’ Real Estate Finance and Investment Center.
